I was so honored to be asked to photograph and film Amanda and Scott’s Santa Cruz wedding in the redwoods. My husband and trusty sidekick filmmaker had known these two through the cycling industry and we would see them around town when we were still living in Santa Cruz. They asked me to photograph their engagement photos and wedding and then made a last minute decision to add on video for their wedding. I just love being able to offer all of that to my clients! Photography is my background and passion but there is something so thrilling to me in seeing the wedding day in action. Video shows a different kind of emotion and movement and being able to hear those special words said on that day makes video so special.
Scott and Amanda met through the cycling industry and bikes are a huge part of their lives. They even race on a tandem bike together. Their wedding day was a sunny and warm November day. They created a secret ceremony location in the redwoods amongst some of their favorite mountain bike trails. Guests were shuttled on a yellow school bus from the Hay Barn on the UCSC campus to their ceremony location where they had a short walk through the redwoods. After their beautiful and emotional ceremony Scott and Amanda rode their tandem bike in their wedding attire back to their reception at the Hay Barn. The barn was decorated beautifully with lots of DIY bike details and amazing florals. They danced the night away to live music from the Lucky Devils Band and completed their night with a send off on their bike. Check out all the vendors involved in their day at the bottom of my post.
